Board recommends food‑truck park rules, asks staff to reference county noise ordinance

Staff presented a proposed amendment to the Land Development Code that would define "food truck" and "food‑truck park" and create compatibility and design standards for permanent food‑truck park sites in high‑intensity commercial zoning districts. Jacob Smith of Growth Management (speaker 18) said the standards address separation, parking, trash, lighting and hours; the Board asked for an explicit cross‑reference to the county noise ordinance to clarify rules on amplified live entertainment.

Board members stressed the proposal does not prevent temporary food truck events in neighborhoods or PUD community centers. The board approved a motion recommending the amendment to the Board of County Commissioners with the recommended addition referencing the county noise ordinance. The motion passed unanimously.
