The Board of Architectural Review on Aug. 6 approved a mural proposed by Friends of Old Town for a stucco portion above the Wine Room patio and a painted section of brick on the Mountain Trails building.
"So, a couple months ago, we came before you all, and showed the site that we wanted to put this new mural on, which is gonna be here on the stucco portion above the wine room patio," said Brady Cliven, executive director for Friends of Old Town. Cliven told the board the building owner had signed off and that the mural is the final piece of a downtown investment grant tied to the Taylor Pavilion revitalization.
Staff described the project as consistent with prior concept approval and confirmed written property-owner permission. The board treated the presentation as a formal follow-up to earlier concept review and approved the application by voice vote with no opposition.
The mural project is funded through a downtown investment grant and follows the committee's earlier conceptual sign-off; board members noted the application required no variances and said staff would handle any necessary follow-up conditions related to installation and maintenance.
