Athletes praise Utah Olympic Park and Oval as training assets for 2034

Multiple athletes at the Salt Lake City watch party highlighted Utah's training infrastructure and the benefits that proximity of venues can provide for competitors and fans.

Chris Lillis, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, said that "Utah has been my home for the better part of the last 10 years" and praised facilities such as the Utah Olympic Park and Park City training resources. He and other athletes said the fact that venues are close together makes the Games more accessible for fans and more comfortable for athletes.

Speakers emphasized that having year-round access to training venues supports athlete development and can help make hosting more feasible; no new venue construction or funding announcements were made at the event. Organizers and athletes also encouraged the public to engage in youth programs at the Oval and local clubs to build the next generation of competitors.
