Zoning Board approves agenda and minutes; minutes pass with two abstentions

Chair Matt Cherry Perry called the meeting to order, noted that the agenda had been posted to the city's legislative information management system and asked for a motion to approve. The board moved, seconded and approved the agenda by voice vote.

The board then considered approval of the minutes from its July 23, 2026 meeting. A motion to approve the minutes was moved and seconded; Chair Perry reminded members who were not present at the prior meeting that they should abstain, saying, "If you weren't here at the last meeting, you should abstain." Board member Hutchins stated an abstention and Board member George Shannon also recorded an abstention. The chair recorded two abstentions and the motion to approve the minutes passed. The clerk earlier conducted roll call and recorded nine members present, which establishes the context for the abstentions and the resulting tally.
