Planning staff announce promotions and new hires; zoning administrator and DRP specialist named

Staff used the meeting's miscellaneous items to introduce personnel changes in the planning department. Betsy Jackson was identified as the zoning administrator; Savannah Guy was promoted from licensed permit clerk to DRP specialist and will handle zoning appeals and subdivision reviews. Staff also said a new DRP specialist, Zach White, will start in mid-September and a deputy director from Frederick County will begin in mid-September and be introduced at the October meeting.

Commissioners congratulated staff on the promotions and noted the benefits of continuity in staff work for ongoing projects such as the comprehensive-plan update.
