Weston committee questions Town Web proposal costs, seeks ADA and email details

Members of the Town of Weston Website Committee reviewed the Town Web proposal and noted that its quoted annual support appeared substantially higher than comparable municipalities. The minutes record that "they discussed the differences in annual costs and questioned why the Town Web proposal appeared significantly higher than comparable municipalities," and that Middletown Springs was cited as an example that included ADA compliance with a lower ongoing annual fee.

Committee members also cataloged optional services listed in the proposal — digital forms, branded email accounts, emergency alerts, AI-powered search, AI-generated agenda and minutes tools, and live meeting streaming — and identified branded email addresses with archiving as the most useful option. The committee asked for clarification on how many emails are included and available storage, and requested that Pam Dickman contact Gene at Town Web to clarify the annual support package and what services (maintenance, staff training, ADA guidance, ongoing assistance) are covered.
