Commissioner McPheeers: officials working to restore water service in Beulah after fire

At the Aug. 6 statutory meeting, Commissioner Paula McPheeers said county leaders and partner agencies are working to restore water service to parts of Beulah affected by recent fires. McPheeers, who said she attended a Buluk Pine Water District meeting, described ongoing coordination with federal and state partners.

"We're still working on some solutions for them to get water back up in that side of Beulah," McPheeers said. She also noted meeting Samaritan's Purse volunteers who had been assisting with cleanup and said county staff continue discussions with FEMA, the Small Business Administration and USDA to support residents in recovery.

McPheeers praised local resilience and said cleanup and restoration work will continue, including coordination on permits and assistance where residents lack insurance. The board did not take further action on water utilities at the meeting; commissioners asked residents to monitor county social media and the county website for updates.
