Presenter outlines BRAKE Masters plan for Forney; commission approves conditional-use request

A presenter described plans for a BRAKE Masters location in Forney, saying the national chain is "moving into Dallas Fort Worth" and sees Forney as "a hub" for surrounding smaller cities. The speaker said the shop is "primarily a minor automotive, BRAKE MASTER" operation focusing on brakes, oil lube and underbody work, and that it would employ "about 5 to 6 people" and operate Monday through Saturday with "all work is conducted inside the building."

Chair and commissioners asked whether work would occur inside the building and whether overnight parking would be allowed; the presenter replied that work will be done inside and there is "no overnight parking outside." After the brief Q&A the commission took a motion to approve the conditional-use request; the chair declared the motion carries.

The conditional-use approval clears a permitting step. Staff later presented a related site plan for the same property; that site-plan item was considered separately during the meeting.
