City Manager Kors presented a draft work plan at the Aug. 6 meeting that he said will guide organizational priorities, resource allocation and a slate of multiyear and current-year projects.
Kors told council the plan will "set goals and priorities" and help align departmental work with organizational objectives. Key multiyear projects highlighted included preparing and publishing an RFP for engineering design work for the Mossbrae Falls trail and bridge, identifying funding and conceptual plans for Hedge Creek parking and trailhead redesign, and pursuing active-transportation improvements on Dunsmuir Avenue tied to visitor traffic.
Current-year tasks Kors listed included implementing a formal employee performance-management program, reviewing and updating the code compliance process and special-event permitting, designing a city newsletter to accompany monthly utility billing, and evaluating options for a new city website and technology plan. Kors said some projects already have funding or grant windows (for example CDBG) and that council input is requested on prioritization and which items to carry forward in the immediate budget cycle.
