Council sets Mossbrae event for Oct. 30, agrees to consider letter on UP'Norfolk Southern merger

Council members discussed scheduling and future agenda items near the end of the Aug. 6 meeting, including dates for a Mossbrae Falls event, a possible letter of support for Union Pacific's proposed merger with Norfolk Southern, and continued consideration of library funding.

Council settled on Oct. 30 for the Mossbrae Falls event and named Oct. 29 as a backup date after checking members' availability. Council member Brian also said he would place a templated letter of support for the Union Pacific'Norfolk Southern merger on the consent calendar for a future meeting if the council wished to consider it.

Members tied the library funding request to the city manager's work plan and suggested staff coordinate with library leadership so council can review budget details when priorities are being set.
