Main Street Oakland County presented its 2025 annual report to the Oakland County Economic Development & Infrastructure Committee, reporting $1,170,000,000 in new public–private investment last year and 165 new downtown businesses that together represented 776 jobs. "One thing we always like to highlight is for every $1 private investment in 2025 there was $6.98 in private investment," Principal Planner Tim Colbeck said during the presentation.
The presentation emphasized technical assistance and grant programs: 30 completed design assistance projects last year, an online marketplace with 85 participating small businesses (average sale $88.46), and partnerships providing startup grants through Genesis Credit Union and MSUFCU. Colbeck asked commissioners to help connect small-business owners to Main Street services, noting the program serves both traditional downtowns and nontraditional commercial corridors across Oakland County.
