Board requires refresher training for foreign applicants; denies one application for discrepancies

At its May 3 meeting the Board reviewed multiple foreign-credential petitions and imposed additional coursework where documentation or elapsed time raised concerns.

Ruth Fresia Llontop Domenack's submitted foreign work history did not match her paperwork; after review the Board voted that she must complete a 1,500-hour course before seeking Nevada licensure. Jose Morel Perez was told that, because of time elapsed since his original training, he would need a 250-hour refresher course. By contrast, the Board denied Luis Garcia Gonzalez's foreign application after identifying multiple discrepancies in his documents; Mr. Chavez's motion to deny was seconded by Mr. Foley and carried unanimously.

The Board referenced credential authenticity and currency as the basis for its determinations and did not waive coursework requirements in these cases. Staff will publish exact documentation requirements for foreign applicants and schedule follow-up reviews when petitioners return with the required coursework or corrected documentation.
