Artist Claudia McCain updates council on bridge art installation

Claudia McCain presented details on a planned bridge art installation during the June 15 meeting, telling councilors the piece was expected to be installed this summer but timing has shifted because of bridge construction. She said Idaho Transportation Department will retain ownership of the artwork and that the piece will be cleaned annually.

McCain said installation had been targeted for around July 9 but construction has delayed the schedule; she told the council the first cleaning is expected in Spring 2018. Council members asked about timing and maintenance; no council motion or vote was recorded on the item during the special meeting.
