County Attorney requests closed 'shade' meeting on litigation; staff recommends intervention in erosion-control petition

The County Attorney told commissioners a confidential memorandum and individual briefings have been provided and requested a shade meeting next Tuesday at 1 p.m. to discuss potential settlement and litigation strategy. The attorney said staff will post notice for the shade meeting if the board concurs and stressed adherence to statutory requirements governing closed attorney-client sessions.

The attorney also reported receipt of a petition filed by the town of "Bel Air Shore" to vacate an erosion control line within its municipal boundaries (case referenced as OGC2068) and said staff would recommend the county seek to intervene in that administrative action before the Department of Environmental Protection. The attorney indicated the petition was received late and staff will post the materials to the County Attorney Reports portion of the agenda to make them available to commissioners.
