Kings Cons SD 144 board approves $666,300 General Obligation Bonds for facility and safety projects

The Kings Consolidated School District 144 Board of Education voted to approve a resolution authorizing the issuance of $666,300 in General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2026A, to fund alterations and reconstruction of school buildings and to purchase and install equipment for fire prevention, safety, energy conservation and school security.

The measure was moved by Director Jake Good and seconded by Director Kyle Osborne and passed by roll call, with six yes votes and one member absent. The resolution authorizes a direct annual tax levy sufficient to pay principal and interest and authorizes the sale of the bonds to the purchaser.

Board members discussed the bond as part of the board’s capital and safety priorities; no amendment to the resolution was recorded. The board’s next administrative steps include completing the sale and implementing the projects funded by the Series 2026A bonds.
