Board schedules Sept. 3 retreat and moves to closed session on Project Breeze

The board voted to hold its strategic planning retreat on Sept. 3 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Clerk's Office training room and to cancel the regular work session for that date. The motion setting the retreat date passed on recorded voice roll calls in which supervisors voted affirmatively.

Near the end of the work session the board moved to a closed session for "the limited purpose of a discussion concerning a prospective business or industry or the expansion of an existing business or industry, namely project 'Breeze,' where no previous announcement has been made," citing the relevant section of the Virginia code as read into the record. The motion to enter the closed session passed on voice vote and the board subsequently certified that only matters identified in the motion were discussed in the closed session.
