The Palatine Zoning Board of Appeals convened on Oct. 24, 2017, approved the minutes of its Sept. 12 meeting and took one substantive action on the evening's agenda.
After confirming a quorum, the board approved the minutes of the Sept. 12, 2017 meeting following a motion and second. Later, the board heard a petition for a special use at 72 South Middleton Avenue and, after staff recommendation and petitioner testimony, voted 7‑0 to recommend approval subject to staff conditions and conformance with site plans and elevations prepared by Pro Plan Architects dated Oct. 3, 2017. The chair told petitioners the advisory recommendation will be sent to the Village Council for consideration on Nov. 6, 2017.
Staff updated the board on two items from the Sept. 12 meeting that have since been approved: a second‑story addition at 103 South Ashland and a special use for a doctor's office at 916 East Northwest Highway. The board adjourned after a brief discussion and a motion to dismiss.
Votes at a glance: minutes approved (voice vote); special‑use recommendation for 72 South Middleton Ave. approved by roll call, 7‑0. No public opposition was recorded during the hearing.
