Louisa-Muscatine board accepts multiple staff resignations at July 10 special meeting

The Louisa-Muscatine Community School District Board of Education met in a special session on July 10, 2026, and voted unanimously to accept six staff resignations. President Matt McCleary called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. and the board approved the agenda before taking up personnel items.

The board accepted resignations from Brennan Gerst (PLC-X: Art, Music, PE); Tonya Spitznogle (Busy Hands Coordinator); Samantha Sebolt (junior-high girls head wrestling coach); Seth Carlisle (assistant junior-high football); Jenni Adams (elementary paraeducator); and Kaitlynn Capper (elementary special education teacher). The motion to accept the resignations was made by Jeff Riggan and seconded by Stacie Ziegenhorn; the minutes record the vote as "Unanimously Approved." The personnel changes were recorded on the district's personnel agenda and will be reflected in district staffing lists.
