Board schedules public visioning workshop for Sept. 9 and begins centennial planning

The board reviewed a draft vision statement and set a date for a public visioning workshop.

Jim Crowser (speaker 8) presented a draft that described the airport as a regional general aviation gateway, stressing safety and economic roles. In his words: "Morris Regional Airport will be the mayor general aviation gateway for the Northeast Kansas in a top regional airport in Kansas." Board members supported posting the draft on the airport website as a working document and scheduling a workshop (public, recorded) on September 9 at 06:00 to solicit broader input.

Separately, staff noted centennial planning for 2029 is underway; archive materials have been transferred to the museum and a focus group will be assembled. The workshop will be a non‑action, public session; no official board votes will be taken at the event.
