Jeff Welton, Public Works Director, described three road and bridge projects seeking county contracts. He said the county would purchase a 1,120‑square‑foot ArmorFlex pad with concrete mats and cables from Welborn Sales for $33,488.00 to replace the low‑water crossing on Virginia Road north of Marshall Road. He also proposed a pre‑engineered bolt‑together 19‑foot arch plate culvert from Welborn Sales for $26,800.00 to replace Bridge 12‑22.2 on Minimum Maintenance Kingman Road east of Vermont, one mile north of Rantoul, which the county rates in poor condition. Finally, Welton recommended awarding Killough Construction $6,300.00 to mill and level Eisenhower Road between 7th and 13th Street prior to chip sealing.
Commissioner Ianne Dickinson moved and Commissioner Rod Harris seconded the ArmorFlex pad purchase; Commissioner Donald Stottlemire moved and Commissioner Colton Waymire seconded the culvert purchase; and Commissioner Colton Waymire moved and Commissioner Ianne Dickinson seconded the milling contract. All votes were recorded as yes and the contracts were approved.
