Council adopts first reading of ordinance clarifying building permit expiration timeframes

Counsel and staff presented Ordinance No. 599 to add permanent expiration language to the town's building permit code to reflect changes in state law (HB803). Counsel said the ordinance provides clarity on permit timeframes, expirations and codification language; the council noted the town already generally followed the practices and moved the ordinance forward.

The required statutory language was read and the council approved the first reading by roll-call vote. Officials said staff will continue monitoring operational impacts of HB803 on permit activity and departmental revenues.
