Vac-truck purchase paused until job descriptions and union sign-off are complete

Staff said the district's CIP includes a vac truck but that procurement is paused until updated job descriptions that require a Class B tanker endorsement are approved so employees can be trained to drive it. The Staff member said the truck order has been on hold pending job-description and union approval and that training timelines and certification requirements were already budgeted. "The VAC truck order has been on hold pending these job descriptions," the Staff member said.

Committee members agreed not to place the truck order until the job descriptions are approved because, as one member put it, "Then we have no one to drive it." Staff estimated delivery could take between six and nine months depending on the vendor and emphasized the district has budgeted training to get employees certified to operate the equipment.
