Mukwonago utilities report: HMO plant near completion, Well 7 still offline; digester cleaning to return for final quotes

Public Works and utilities staff briefed trustees on ongoing water and wastewater projects, including an update that the HMO plant is largely built and work is focused on electrical and finishing, while Well 7 remains offline because of PFAS contamination and has not been put into distribution.

Director (utilities) discussed the digester cleaning and valve-replacement proposals for the wastewater plant, saying worst-case the written quote looked like about $142,000 but staff expected something closer to $110,000. He said trucking and labor costs are the largest variables and that the project requires draining digesters and replacing corroded piping only when tanks are empty. The board did not vote on the digester item and asked staff to return with final quotes before the village board meeting.
