S8 also described preliminary plans and cost estimates for the Mount Cheaha transmitter building, noting the structure dates to the late 1950s/early 1960s and contains known asbestos; options under consideration include demolishing to the slab and rebuilding with prefabricated shelters or refurbishing the existing structure, and staff said legislative help may be needed to fund a major replacement.
