Board signals intent to consider executive session over WLRH Huntsville property offer

At the start of the meeting the chair notified the board that, following the Alabama Educational Foundation event, he would ask for a motion to enter executive session to discuss an offer related to property exchange involving the WLRH station in Huntsville.

"I'll entertain a motion to go to executive to set executive session to discuss a matter relating to an offer, considered offer for the exchange of, of property," the chair said, citing the statutory allowance for executive sessions. Board members did not take that executive session during the portion of the meeting captured in the transcript; staff indicated the item would be considered later in the meeting schedule.

Because the discussion was procedural and no confidential executive session was actually convened in the recorded segments, the board did not disclose details of the offer, the counterpart or the value of the property on the record.
