Council continues 400 South item to next meeting pending legal review after public concerns

Mayor Zach Stratton announced the 400 South agenda item would be removed from today's work session after staff said new information required further review. During public comment and subsequent council exchanges, a private landowner and neighbors raised concerns about perceived inaccuracies in staff materials and urged faster progress on a proposed path and bike connection.

At the end of the meeting a council member moved "to continue to the next city council meeting pending a legal review." The motion was seconded and recorded votes included one abstention and one recorded "nay," but the motion passed. The mayor closed the meeting after the vote and instructed staff to undertake the legal review so the item can return to a future council agenda.
