Commission recommends annexation and industrial zoning for 4.48-acre parcel north of Yellowstone

Planning staff and the applicant asked the commission to recommend annexation and initial Industrial Manufacturing (I&M) zoning for a 4.482-acre parcel north of Yellowstone and off Woodruff. Julian of Eborock Engineering spoke for the applicant and confirmed the parcel is already zoned I&M in the county; the requested action was to add the property into the city with matching initial zoning.

Staff said the parcel fits the comprehensive plan and noted the applicant removed right-of-way from the request after staff review. No members of the public spoke on the item. Commissioner (speaker 3) moved that the commission recommend approval to the mayor and city council; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call (ayes recorded at SEG 978–988). The recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for final action.

The annexation and initial zoning will allow the parcel to develop under city standards moving forward; staff said the parcel will take access from nearby development and not directly from North 15th Street.
