Republic council unanimously approves City–County interlocal agreement on jail, 911 and court services

The City Council of Republic voted unanimously July 29 to approve a City/County interlocal agreement that covers jail, 911, court, prosecutor, indigent defense and law enforcement costs and procedures, according to the council's special-meeting minutes.

"Motion: Marty motioned to approve the new City/County Interlocal agreement." Council Member Marty Rugo moved to approve the agreement and Council Member Liz Stinson seconded; the minutes record the motion passed unanimously. The minutes also state that the County Commissioners had already approved the agreement at a prior meeting, presented to the council as existing background for the city's action.
