County approves $12,300 for meeting-room audio upgrade to improve broadcasts

Bernie from the county IT team presented an estimate to upgrade meeting-room audio to wireless directional microphones and said the purchase would improve both in-room audibility and streamed broadcasts. The project estimate was $12,094.55; commissioners suggested funding the purchase as a one-time expense from the food-and-beverage balance.

After discussion about microphone directionality, lapel options and the merits of better streaming visuals, a motion to pay for microphones up to $12,300 from the food-and-beverage balance was moved and carried by voice vote. Bernie said he would also investigate improved camera positioning so on-screen presentations are readable to commissioners seated at the dais.
