City manager: patrols to increase when school starts; Kingsburg firefighters assisting Oregon blaze

The City Manager provided a brief public-safety update: police patrols will increase around schools when the academic year begins next week, and some Kingsburg firefighters recently traveled to assist with a wildfire response in Oregon.

“We’ll increase patrols around the school as we do customarily, during the school year, but especially at the start,” the City Manager said. He added that firefighters had been sent to assist on the Buzzard Fire and that additional personnel were en route.

A council member asked whether newly repainted lines and a crosswalk on 14th Street would be completed before school starts; the City Manager said he would check the pavement‑marking schedule for that location and report back. The update was informational; no council action was taken.
