La Grange supervisor highlights summer programming, says town saved about $80,000 on insurance

The Chair opened the meeting with a review of summer programming and finances, saying residents turned out for movie nights, music in the park and the Freedom festival. He said the town’s summer camp sessions and lake amenities had high participation and thanked staff and volunteers for their work.

"We were able to secure the same coverage, essentially apples to apple comparison, while saving the town approximately $80,000," the Chair said, describing a recent insurance review that reduced annual costs. He also reported the town submitted a smart growth comprehensive plan grant application and said officials would update the public when they hear back on the award decision.
