Planner recommends historic overlay for Phil Plott Florist building at 1902 North 1st Street

Kara Boyce, a city planner, told the Planning and Zoning Commission that the request HOZ2026-02 would add a historic overlay to the 0.139-acre property at 1902 North 1st Street, long home to Phil Plott Florist. "The owner is Jonathan Crisp. The request is to add historic overlay to 1902 North 1st Street," Boyce said, and she noted that Landmarks had reviewed the materials and recommended approval.

No members of the public spoke during the hearing. After brief commissioner comment about the building's mid-century signage and architect Jimmy Tittle, a motion to approve the historic overlay was made and seconded and the commission voted in favor. The commission did not attach additional conditions; the chair noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission is a recommending body and that final approval would be through the city council process.
