Commission sets reinspection and potential $1,000 fine for 1811 Grant Street cleanup

Staff reported that 1811 Grant Street has made some progress on exterior cleanup but still requires additional work and recommended assessing a $1,000 fine if the property is not brought into compliance by the next inspection. The commission voted to assess the fine if necessary and to set a reinspection for Aug. 26 with staff to present estimates and an update at the Sept. 1 meeting.

Staff said they would secure estimates to complete repairs and make the property safe; as staff put it, "Assess 1000 dollar fine, get estimates to make the repairs, and secure the property. September 1, August 26 is our recommendation." Commissioners approved the staff recommendation and asked staff to follow up with the owner and report back at the next meeting.
