Committee backs variance for detached garage at 830 East Capri Drive

The Police Policy & Code Services Committee recommended a variation allowing construction of a detached garage for the property at 830 East Capri Drive, a unit in a three‑flat that was annexed into the village. Staff told the committee many nearby three‑flats include detached garages while this lot currently does not, and that the petitioner needs additional square footage relief and narrower private parking spaces to make a garage feasible.

Staff said the Zoning Board of Appeals had recommended approval and that, because parking is private for the residents, the narrower spaces were less of a concern. Committee members voted in favor and the chair indicated the measure would be placed on the consent agenda for the full council to consider.
