Village Hall remodel 55% complete; staff still targeting June move-in

Public works and project staff updated the council on the village hall remodel. The presentation described exterior brickwork on north and west elevations, about 70% completion of interior metal stud framing, rooftop equipment framing and a permanent power connection to the building. Staff said the atrium will be a prominent glass curtain wall and that complex console chamber framing is in place.

Staff estimated the project is roughly 55% complete and reiterated the team is targeting a June move-in next year, with the building substantially closed by Thanksgiving and the atrium finished by Christmas. Project leads from the contractor (Camosy) and the architect (Old Architect / Matt Bickel) are coordinating a potential council walkthrough in January. Staff warned that the schedule is sensitive to weather and supply lead times; they also noted contingency expenditures and cost-tracking as the guaranteed maximum price contract is reconciled.

Why it matters: The new village hall will change staff workspace and public access and involves significant coordination among the village, park district and contractor. Councilmembers asked about contingency use and the park district's $32,000 scope additions; staff said some changes will be reimbursed but are currently tracked in contract adjustments.
