Fulton County approves vendor contracts including jail suicide-prevention upgrades

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of procurement items on Aug. 5 as part of the regular agenda and actions reported out of executive session.

The board approved a statewide contract in the amount of $297,700 to provide mailing and voter-communication services for the registration and elections office. The county also approved a contract not to exceed $581,114.60 for the purchase and installation of emergency vehicle equipment packages and awarded lowest-responsible-bidder contracts for asphalt pavement maintenance in an amount not to exceed $200,000. The board voted to increase spending authority for solid-waste disposal and recycling by an amount not to exceed $130,000.

From executive session, the board approved a jail orientation video contract not to exceed $12,064.59 and a contract for suicide-prevention modifications at the Fulton County Jail in an amount not to exceed $771,900.45. County legal staff presented the executive-session items and commissioners moved and seconded the motions; recorded votes show the approvals carried with the tallies noted in the minutes.
