Following executive session the Tangipahoa Parish School Board reported no action on listed litigation matters and moved forward on the superintendent search. The board said the search firm collected 12 expressions of interest, received nine partial applications and four complete applications; the board voted to advance two candidates to the next stage.
The board named Ronald Jenko (identified in the report as an assistant superintendent in the district) and Dr. Jamie Cole as the two finalists the board moved forward for public interviews. The board said interviews will be recorded and posted online, and the district will host a town‑hall meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 19, where the public can ask questions and provide feedback. "We're gonna be hosting a town hall style meeting on Wednesday, August 19, where both of these candidates, if they choose, will be able to come here and answer questions from the public," the president said.
Board members said the interviews and public input will factor into a later selection decision.
