The council unanimously reaffirmed a prior resolution authorizing the city to file and accept grants from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs to build the East Hampton All Wheels Park (skate park) at Millside Park.
Parks and Recreation Director John Mason told the council the resolution had been passed in December but needed signatures to move forward. "This is a resolution that was passed back in December," Mason said, and added that fundraising, the park grant, and Community Preservation Act funds together have met funding goals. The resolution in the packet states the East Hampton All Wheels Park project will cost a total of $750,000 and that the city shall appropriate the full amount.
Councilors were offered the option to send the resolution to subcommittee, but, after a motion and a second, members proceeded to a vote and approved reaffirmation so staff may file and accept the grant and execute required actions if awarded.
