The Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 4 to adopt a resolution approving corrections to parcel records for the 2026 tax roll.
Benjamin Schwarzenegger, senior assistant county attorney, told commissioners the first correction addresses two parcel PINs that were combined by a recorded plat in late 2024 and should have been treated as a single residential parcel after construction began on an apartment complex. Schwarzenegger said one small PIN currently classified as commercial had a value of about $500 and "will be deactivated" so the value combines into the larger parcel. He also described a separate case where a taxpayer provided materials to the assessor but failed to file a petition to the Board of Equalization; review of that material showed a reduction was needed and will be handled through the correction resolution.
Commissioner Baker moved the resolution "approving the correction of errors for tax year tax year 2026 on parcels identified by the assessor's office pursuant to Colorado revised statute section 39 dash 8 dash 1 0 2 parent 1" and Commissioner Campbell seconded. The motion passed by voice vote. The chair noted the board would address the referee recommendations separately after public comment.
