The Board approved submission and acceptance of multiple grants to support homelessness services and workforce development.
County staff authorized submitting the FY2026 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Continuum of Care application for $349,340, which requires a $87,335 cash match from Pinal County's FY2026 Emergency Solutions Grant. The funding is intended for transitional housing assistance, rent and utility payments, case management, and resource referrals to support self-sufficiency for people experiencing homelessness.
The Board also approved acceptance of Amendment No. 2025-0004 for Award Agreement No. DI23-002390 under WIOA Title I for $2,260,513.82 to fund ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County workforce delivery services for Program Year 2026/Fiscal Year 2027. In addition, the Board approved participation in proposals and grant opportunities including a $125,000 BlackRock Future Builders opportunity and a $1,000,000 collaborative research project with Arizona State University and Arizona SciTech Institute to localize STEM career exploration resources. All workforce items were noted as included in the FY26/27 budget where applicable and recorded as having no impact on the General Fund where specified.
