Commission endorses Genesee Township draft master plan, notes housing chapter and open house

Planning staff told the commission they had reviewed Genesee Townships draft master plan and highlighted maps, charts and a housing needs assessment in chapter 4. The planner said: "I have reviewed the Genesee Township draft master plan... It includes maps, charts, diagrams, and other relevant information... I also wanted to note that chapter 4 is dedicated solely to a housing needs assessment."

Staff reported that Genesee Township conducted relatively strong citizen engagement with a participation survey and that staff had not received comments on the draft; staff recommended approval. The planner also noted Genesee Township will hold another public open house on the 19th of this month. Commissioners moved to approve staffs recommendation and the motion passed by voice vote, endorsing the draft plan for transmittal to the board and the township.

The endorsement is a staff recommendation and does not replace the townships final adoption process; staff asked that questions for the absent township supervisor be passed along for response.
