Council approves Yellowstone Shoreline Trailhead amenities and accessible parking within Forest Service easement

The council approved proposed Yellowstone Shoreline Trail improvements, including five accessible parking stalls, a retaining wall, donor kiosks, pavers and benches on town property within a Forest Service easement in the 80 acres. Town Manager Dan Walker said the project has funding for the amenities and that the park board and Forest Service easement considerations will be coordinated before work proceeds.

Walker recommended approval and council members moved and seconded to allow the Shoreline Trail group to construct the trailhead amenities and accessible parking stalls as proposed. Council noted the work is consistent with the town’s planning for the 80-acre property and that further adjustments will be routed through the park board as needed.
