County attorney recommends executive session to discuss likely litigation; commission votes to go into closed session

The county attorney advised the commission to adjourn the public work session and convene an executive session to discuss the legal ramifications and options for pending—or imminently likely—litigation.

"I would recommend the commission adopt a motion to adjourn this work session and convene an executive session to discuss with your attorney the legal ramifications of and legal options for pending litigation," the county attorney said, explaining the exception for discussion with counsel.

The Chair moved to enter executive session, the motion received a second, and commissioners voted by voice to proceed with the closed session. The commission announced it would not reconvene that work session and planned to meet for the regular 10:00 meeting.
