Planning staff schedule Aug. 27 hearing on proposed cell tower near 4000 east of 3900

A planning staff member told commissioners that a public hearing on a rezoning request to allow a cell-phone tower in a three-mile zone is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in the county basement.

"This is for, request zoning in a 3 mile zone for a cell phone tower on 4000 just east of 3900," the staff member said, announcing the location and scope of the rezoning request. The staff member said the hearing will be published in the paper of record and promoted on social media.

Staff also said a prior zoning meeting for the same proposal had been held in May but was canceled because there was not a quorum; the upcoming meeting is a repeat notification. The staff member asked that local representatives and the Coffeyville appointee to the planning board be involved in outreach and attendance.
