Menasha updates: most utilities restored, library reopening, parks closures and volunteer coordination

Mayor Hammond and department heads gave progress updates on services: utility crews and mutual-aid partners restored most power, the library reopened to provide phones, internet and respite, and parks crews have closed heavily affected parks pending engineering inspections.

"In the Menasha utility service area, 90% has had power restored," Mayor Hammond said. Director Kopetsky said the library reopened Wednesday and has served more than 3,000 people since reopening, offering internet access and space for recovery activities. Director Sackett noted Hart Park and Smith Park remain closed until structural and playground inspections are completed; playground inspectors and structural engineers will assess safety before reopening.
