Director reports strategic-plan meeting, budget return and software approval

Library Director Alice Freiler said a strategic-plan update meeting is scheduled for Aug. 26 at 6:00 p.m. She also reported that $1,059.45 from the library budget was returned to the town. The board approved a request to spend up to $800 from the annual fund to purchase a standardized Office Suite for security and accessibility reasons (motion by Debbie Janssens, seconded by Everett Lyons; unanimous).

Freiler said a grant application for a new HVAC system is in process and that she will apply to Thomaston Savings Bank for PlayAway Launchpads. The board additionally approved an institutional membership to the Association for Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL) for $175 (motion by Debbie Janssens, seconded by Andrea Fitzpatrick; unanimous).
