Resident urges Select Board to address Community Power opt-in; asks about TIF meeting public comment

During the public-comment portion of the Aug. 3 work session, Boscawen resident Bill Heinz asked whether the Select Board had taken an official position on Community Power and said he believes default enrollment led some residents to pay more. Heinz said many residents lack time to change their enrollment and urged the board to speak up.

Selectwoman Lorrie Carey responded that participation is an individual choice and said she saved money after enrolling; Chairman Matt Burdick said he is not on Community Power. Heinz also asked about public comment at an upcoming TIF meeting; staff member Kellee Easler said public comment could be taken at that meeting. No board action on Community Power was recorded in the transcript.
