Sweetwater County approves annual mill levies

County Assessor Dave Divas told the commission this is the yearly approval of mill levies for Sweetwater County, explaining his office and the county clerk verify budgets submitted by taxing authorities and special districts to ensure statutory maximums are not exceeded. He noted some submissions arrived late and staff completed the calculations and distributed them to commissioners the previous day.

The commission voted unanimously to approve the mill levies as presented and directed staff to sign and file the documents. Divas asked the board for a signed copy of the approval document for county records.
