Board of Equalization accepts withdrawal of property tax appeal from Bridal J and B Properties LLC

County Assessor Dave Divas explained to the Board of Equalization that the property owner’s representative submitted an appeal and accompanying evidence, and the assessor’s office responded with its evidence. After receiving the assessor’s response, the taxpayer’s agent chose to withdraw the appeal rather than pursue a hearing. Divas said legal counsel advised the board to accept the withdrawal, which the commission did.

The board approved an order granting the withdrawal and vacating the hearing by unanimous vote. Divas confirmed two other appeals were handled as withdrawals earlier in the cycle but said the process will now generally route withdrawal acceptance through the board as advised by legal counsel.
