Parks staff outlines schedule for harbor liner, attenuator and dock fabrication

Parks staff updated the board on multiple harbor projects and timelines. Staff said both harbor basins have been drained and cleaned and contractors are expected to begin installing a new liner in 10–14 days; the city selected a gray liner to reduce visible staining. A 650-foot attenuator is set to arrive on the 28th and will take two to three weeks to assemble. “That’ll take 2 to 3 weeks and we approved the final engineered plans for the dock today,” the Staff member said, adding that docks are being fabricated and the city hopes to receive them by mid-October with installation expected to take four to six weeks.

Staff described attenuator construction and safety features — a galvanized frame with concrete panels designed to reduce wave action and navigational lighting — and said the attenuator will be installed first to protect subsequent dock work. The board and staff discussed public-safety outreach; staff said they will make announcements on Facebook and other channels to warn lake users about work zones and lighting changes during installation.
